newly emerged, not hardened cicadas. The Red Wattlebirds used to grab the newly emerged Greengrocers, and smash them up into pieces to eat where I lived in Melbourne. My brother is concerned for his Greengrocers in Geelong that are being grabbed by his resident magpies.
