Found in buttress roots of large Eucalyptus fastigata

WOW Dean you sure like to find the tricky ones..... I am not overly familiar with the polypores but this one fits nicely with a Rigidoporus species which forms tiers on dead stumps of eucalyptus. Was your tree dead or alive?
This is a great image, by the way, very well captured.

Teresa it's not something I'm familiar with, sorry. My only other thought was that it might be an immature Ryvardenia campyla

As this specimen appears to be immature and a definite id can't be given with confidence I'm sorry it will just have to be placed under Polypore sp. A great looking specimen thank you for uploading it for us all to see. Hopefully some time in the future you may be able to record it in a more mature state..
