I am more inclined to Acacia ulicifolia, because it has obvious stipules at the bases of the leaves. Acacia brownii loses its stipules early. Also brownii always has golden yellow flowers, and the flower colour in ulicifolia is variable.

I got it down to 11 possible species using the Wattle app. When I tapped on Find Best, the suggested feature was Phyllode (‘leaf’j Width. Could you add that as a comment if you can remember please, Boobook38.

I agree with ID of A. ulicifolia much more common than A. brownii in Morton NP in Bundanoon
