I am not familar with this species - it looked a little out of place next to a rainforest creek.

@Sybille - many thanks for the input - I will return and check the underside. I’ll add another photo.
From my initial search online, I think the leaves may be too slender for the Ozothamnus.

A common species in the district and grows in light gaps and the edges of forest. Almost certainty this species, but check below leaves.
