User's notes
I was surprised to find this moth inside our house, presumably attracted in by the lights. After identifying this species and looking up it's range of distribution I noted that it should not be here.

Wow, these aren't often seen. Why do you think it's out of area? There's an ALA record from Bega area. I've seen it in foothills of ranges west of Batemans Bay.

Hi Glenn, to identify the moth I referred to the book 'A Guide to Australian Moths' by Paul Zborowski and Ted Edwards. In the brief description it outlined the moths distribution as being from the Atherton Tableland to as far south as Batemans Bay, where you have seen it. I guess with climate change we should not be surprised that many insect species are extending their range of distribution further south.
