User's notes

This could be a slime mould or a fungus, or some other cryptogram. It appeared on an old eucalypt stump after light rain. About 80 mm across.

Sorry, I've never seen anything like this before. The fact that it's growing around grass suggests some type of fungus or as you say a slime mould. Though I suspect it may be a bit too robust to be the latter. If I come across something that may help with identification I'll let you know.
