Appeared after rain post January fires

These are commonly referred to as one of the 'coral' fungi. The Ramaria species form these dense clumps almost cauliflour like. They are a mycorrhizal fungus, that is the fungus is associated with plant roots, mostly trees. Where both partners benefit from the association. I feel that it most probably indicates that the tree it is associated with was not too badly impacted by the fires.
