I've never seen so many cicadas up close and personal; flying about, easily seen climbing trunks, in every tree from the gate to about 20 gum trees in, in the leaves, hovering, and that distinctive call. I presume they are the same species.
Thank you. I had a cicada bounce off my head this morning that was being chased by a bird! (the black faced cuckoo shrike suddenly saw me and stopped giving chase otherwise I would have had it in my face).
