Thanks. I did look at B. scolopendria and couldn't see much difference between the descriptions. I finally went with B. ensata because the plants I saw were single stems with a few branches. They were in sandy spots and the book I'm using (Native Plants of the Sydney Region by Fairley and Moore) places B. scolopendria mostly north of Sydney. I do have a couple photos from a prior visit if that might help. Can I add them to this sighting?

Bossiaea ensata is present in the area where you took this pic and has a much more red/orange flower compared to scolopendria's more typical red and yellow combination. B. ensata also tends to be lower growing, often prostrate to weakly ascending, whereas scolopendria is more erect and generally a larger plant (and more coastal in my experience).

Appreciate your descriptive comments. I don't have any better photos than the ones uploaded for Aug and Sept 2021, and the only stem I saw with flowers was the one on 19 Sept. If I have another opportunity, I will look for these additional details.
