This black ant on the picnic table was interesting. It had hairs on the top of its body and on its butt those hairs were orange. Looks like its eaten that leaf on the table. Do ants eat gum leaves?

Hi Kylie, the ant won't have been eating the leaf, but may have been feeding on insects or scale on the surface of the leaf. Cheers, Jon
