Not A. cingulata - does not occur this far south. It has much brighter abdominal bands and hair is a brighter orange. Could also be A. chlorocyanea, but A. asserta is more common.
I didn't know there were multiple species of Blue-Banded Bees until I read Peter Abbott's Spotter's Guide! I have one visiting a dwarf perrenial salvia daily in my garden but my its very nervous and difficult to get photos of!
