Thank you for the ID, Roger. I am curious to know what other information I need to photograph? I thought the striped legs and face matched the photo ID on the species list for bush katydid, but I assume you need more photos of different areas of the katydid than I provided?

Which species is the bush Katydid? The early instar nymphs of all Caedicias, according to Rentz, have speckled appearance. Maybe we should call this nymph Caedicia sp.

No worries, you did well. My friend Paul Wittingdon has a picture of a speckled nymph on SCNM that he has simply identified to family Phaneropterinae, bush katydids. Its almost certainly a Caedicia. He has now left SCNM and is with I-naturalist. Caedicia simplex is still the commonest species in your area.
