I thought this was a European Wasp so I didn't pay too much attention to it. It flew up and down, up and down on the track where there was a damp patch and then disappeared. When I look at the photo I'm scratching my head. Its an odd looking wasp if that's what it is! Its leg arrangement and eyes make it look like a crab but I can see the striped abdomen.
