I don't think I've seen paper wasps in a native tree before. ONly on houses or in imported plants.

There's plenty around this year. I got done by a small brown paper wasp on a Privet I was cutting out.

And it really hurts! Been stung a few times on the fingers over the years. But I still let one lot nest in my backyard and then knock the nest down in winter. They never seem to bother me there.
