Ageratina adenophora (Crofton weed)

This weed was very common on North Coast roadsides.
Thanks for your ID work on North Coast Nature Map, hopefully more moderators will get on board for this area soon.

I do reckon it's Ageratum (probably houstonianum?) - Ageratina has white flowers, whereas the flowers in the photo look mauve/blue to me

Having had another good look I think you are right, but for me it is leaves that are the decider, the flower colour can be variable amongst garden cultivars. Ageratum has densely hairy leaves and stems, will in Ageratina the leaves are almost glabrous.
