Hi @wombey juvenile eastern brown?

Aaron, I'm a bit confused. There is no locality information. Is this a local animal or from Noosa?? I suppose it is an Eastern Brown Snake but if it is, it is a very unusual colour form. The nuchal band is in the right place but with that extra line down the the back and the brown head, one could be forgiven for being unsure. I've not seen one like this before but this species can be highly variable in colour generally. This highlights the vagaries of only images available rather than having the change to examine the animal in the hand.

Aaron, I've just now sorted that it is from the Noosa area but that does not change my earlier comment. The only other genus it resembles is Demansia but even then, it is nothing like any known Demansia so I don't seriously consider that at this stage

Hi @wombey this was slithering down the main street of Peregian Beach near Noosa yesterday. Very interesting!
