So, having had a think about this one I'm going to reassign to genus level only. Juncus is a notoriously large and complicated genus for which the critical identifying features are the pith, culm colour & hardness and tepal length. There would be something like 30 species that may occur in this area, so without these diagnostic features I'd prefer not to speculate. I do appreciate that J.usitatus is the dominant species in this genus along the south coast, and is a strong possibility.
