Guesstimated location. Length approx 100cm scaling off boot footprint at bottom of pic. It was washed up on beach, where we had been swimming the day before, near our campsite. Consulting my Wilson & Swan "A Complete Guide to Reptiles of Australia" 2nd Edition I reckon it's probably an Olive-headed Sea Snake (Disteira major) judging by the ~30 broad dark bands across its back and its short thick head.

@HelenCross has suggested the ALA Accepted name, Hydrophis major (see https://bie.ala.org.au/species/https://biodiversity.org.au/afd/taxa/8e494094-4aff-4ab4-96ea-db9eaed6a00a#names) with Disteira major being one of its many synonyms.

Hi @HelenCross - are you getting an error message or just selecting the species you want to suggest, but nothing is happening. How can I reproduce at my end?

I go through the Identify steps until I get to the suggest new species step, type the name in, and it just disappears

Hi @HelenCross - that's no good! What species name were you trying to enter. Was this the suggestion of a brand new species name for the system for the first time?

Yep, brand new species name: Hydrophis major; which I've been able to do in the past

Hi @HelenCross ok weird. It worked for me, but I'm logged in as an administrator. Can you please let me know if you see this issue again. Then I think it may be permissions related and we can narrow it down.. Can you use this newly created species all good from here?
