I fed them sprigs of small leaved natives from the garden, such as Melaleuca, Callistemon, Crowea.

What is the approx length of the mature case? What is approx wingspan of the adult moth? Can you cut (say with nail scissors, very carefully) a case open to photograph a whole caterpillar?

I am at Tumbarumba at the moment and the case moths are at Vincentia, I will attempt cutting a case open on Saturday, when I go back to the coast.

I have cut open a couple of the cases. The first case was tiny and the pupae inside is shriveled and dead, but looks to be male. The second case was the one that the male moth from sighting Lomera (genus) was perched on and it appears to be female (see sighting Lomera (genus)).
The length of the male moth's forewing was 12 mm to the tip, so the wing span would be double this.
