I know this pea flowers in spring, but when I came up upon the plants it looked like they were in flower - but not pea shaped flowers. Looked very weird. Almost on every twig pale yellow/green roundish head. Presume its a gall? Never seen it before on these plants.

Looks like a Dasineura (a midge induced) gall - but not one I know
