User's notes

in nearly 5 years of insecting, I have never seen leafhoppers on a Silver Wattle before. There were so many tiny ants I could barely see them, so not sure of species. Will have to keep an eye out on that tree later on.

I'm just wondering if these were the egg sacs of the Jalmenus evagoras Imperial Hairstreak Butterflies instead? That might explain the weird web-like covering that I could see in the photos. I've mixed these up before. https://strathbogierangesnatureview.files.wordpress.com/2010/12/dscf1523.jpg

Hi @KylieWaldon. Great photos! These are the pupal shells and larvae of Jalmenus ictinus, with their attendant Meat Ants; J evagoras have a different species of ant as their attendant ant.
