User's notes
The first image shows both the mature specimen and one which is about to dehisce - note the paler colour of the upper part of the cap.
This is the only species of Alwisia (genus) ever found at this location. It has a long calyculus after dehiscence and also showed darker bodies within the developing plasmodium.
The mature specimen shows the typical 'brushes' (capillitium threads) in the remaining sporocarp which clearly identify it as Alwisia lloydiae.
Of the four Alwisia species, A.lloydiae is the only one with this strong feature and the very large extent of bodies, some 35cm in length, containing thousands of individuals.
