Not A. varia?

I had considered A varia but ruled it out as it showed none of the very wavy postmedial line associated with the line of dots on fore and hind wings

OK, fair point. Looking at this again, I think A. acuta cannot be ruled out. Reading page 206 (for images) 'Moths in the ACT' regards A. repleta/ varia/A. acuta as a species complex with high variability within species making them difficult to separate. I'm assuming its a male with yellowish antennae which I've seem bwefore in moths id'd as A. acuta.

SPecies are hard to separate from images and Moths of Vic does not offer any definitive answers either. It does say discal spots are bigger in A. nicothoe than other common sp (which I had missed). Male A. varia are shown with yellow antennae too.
