hover fly larvae hunting aphids on trellis near peach tree. They were very energetic. Held on with rear claspers and waved body about to sense (smell or ??) the aphids

they are aphids - Brachycaudus persicae Black Peach Aphid.

Yes, this is a Hoverfly larva (& aphid as prey). Fabulous photos!! I can never get sharp enough focus on the aphids 😂💚
