This large gum has a smooth bark which sheds in thin & short strips or pieces. The skin underneath has distinctive markings in light & dark greys, & cream colours (photo 1). I’ve not seen/noticed this tree elsewhere in this area of Copmanhurst, NSW North Coast. This specimen is very big and at least as tall as any other trees nearby, if not taller. Photos 2 shows the upper canopy (the most distant typical grey-green eucalypt leaves at the top & upper LHS. The glossy bright green leaves on the upper RHS are NOT of this tree). Photo 3 shows most of the trunk and upper branches, all of which carry the same mottled patterning as the trunk. Photo 4 is a closer look at the trunk and first bifurcation.
