User's notes

The predominant wing surface colour on this butterfly is brown, especially on the underside of all wings (photos 1, 3 & 5). Upper side of fore wing: The top half is black with 2 sets of white markings in diagonal rows with 2 smaller and less crisp white grey markings linking these 2 rows, along the outer perimeter (photos 1, 2 & 3). The bottom part of the upper fore wing is an orange surrounded by brown, except for the black at the top edge of it. The hind wings are dark brown with a wide off-white band spanning them in the middle, (photos 1 & 4). The edges of the wings appear scalloped (photos 1 , 2 & 3). The body appears to be black or slate grey, (photo 1).
