They were firm and white, like foam inside. My dog initially dug them up close to the surface and tried to eat them. Near pine trees

While Rhizopogon is a possibility, one or two other truffle genera are possible near pines. If Rhizopogon, these are still too immature to be sure of the genus from a photo alone.
