User's notes

A hover fly or a wasp? This has a mostly yellow body with black pronotum which appears to be edged in an off-white/cream colour. There is a discontinuous centre line on the upper abdomen, running from front towards the back ceasing at about 2/3 of the way. There appears to be 5 black bands running from side to side on the abdomen’s upper surface. There appears to be 3 off-white/cream patches at the front upper abdomen delineated by black lines. This invertebrate has some similar features to the hover fly at Sighting 4635610.

Thanks @MichaelMulvaney for the extra info, by way of a suggested species name. Every bit helps steer in the right direction!

Cheers,

MazzV
