User's notes

I am not sure about the identification of this insect. I found it on the underside of a Bigleaf hydrangea that I was pruning. The insect seemed very secure there because I had already cut the small branch the leaf was on. It was when I was cleaning up the cuttings that I noticed the insect on the underside of the leaf. I even placed the little branch on a stone while I went inside to get the camera and the insect stayed on the underside of the leaf. The insect barely moved while I was photographing it, except for slightly moving its wings. After photographing the insect I placed the small cutting on another plant in the garden and the insect was gone the next day when I checked it.
