Some flies do blow bubbles! I didn't know this until I observed these 2 tiny flies doing just that! While searching for this behaviour on the internet, I found a site 'Ray Cannon's nature notes'. It has an example of a fly, very similar to the ones I observed, blowing a bubble. That helped me find an ID on NM.
