_Elattostachys microcarpa_ mature tree fruiting .
Healthy lowland tropical rain forest – road edge,
healthy mature forest middle–storey tree, fruiting well this season, ripe open capsules displaying their red insides of their valves and the black seeds awaiting dispersal by animals such as birds,
and a small part of this tree's foliage on which these fruits grow (shown here) .
Mossman Gorge, tree grows behind and above the major welcome sign in the entrance area to Mardjanga Baral tracks, beside the shuttle bus drop off area and turning circle and near the picnic area .
