I found this cheeky little wasp in our toilet room, hiding near empty toilet rolls we use as a phone shelf!
We live in the foothills area between Mt Baw Baw and Warragul in Victoria. I've never seen a wasp quite like this before.
The wasp was notable with strong-contrast white markings around its large spherical black eyes, set off against a deep orange body. It also sported white bands on its antennae and lower legs. Quite the dandy!
