Hello NatureMaprs
As the snow blankets the Australian Alps, we have been working with customer partners across NSW to deliver a growing number of professional, government backed citizen science programs. NatureMapr is busy developing a suite of professional grade platform tools to support decision makers in delivering important species-based and place-based programs. Most recently, we have partnered with NSW Saving Our Species to deliver the Bats in Backyards program for 2025 which will collect citizen science data on the 34 bat species in NSW, 18 of which are listed as threatened or thought to be extinct.
NSW BioNet
NatureMapr’s engagement with the NSW BioNet team continues and will see data from the growing number of NSW Government backed programs contribute to the NSW BioNet database. The activation of this important feed for records collected as part of these programs on NatureMapr will result in better informed policy making across NSW. These important programs are also helping fund a range of improvements to the platform that we have been able to roll out to the wider NatureMapr community:

In the coming weeks we will also be attending the exchange workshops for the first cohort of Land Libraries participants in Kangaroo Valley, Brogo, Pillar Valley and Wauchope, stay tuned for an update on the program’s outcomes! If you have any questions regarding this post or suggestions for the platform, please see our Frequently asked questions page comment them and a member of our team will get back to you.
Have a great week
From the NatureMapr Team
