Thanks @johnpugh for the background and details of its genetic mix. I agree it’s a good specimen and very noisy too.

Good photo Jenny. Anas platyrhynchos X Cairina moschata (Domestic Hybrid) - Mallard X Muscovy Duck (Domestic Hybrid). This has been seen a few times on Jarramlee Pond over the years. Ref sighting from 2010 4388955. This guy is a lot larger and a fairly noisy example as against the smaller 2010 sighting. Under its wings and on its rump it has grey/brown markings which are more obvious when he/she stretches wings.
