Hi Jan, do you have any other pics of the bird? My inclination is that it is a juvenile Grey Shrike-Thrush but I would like to see a better view of the head.

Hi Luke I'm sorry I don't have more pictures. I also thought of a Grey Shrikethrush. But I found the pattern of the stripes a bit strange / strong. The rest of the bird indeed is not clearly visible.

This bird is difficult to diagnose. It is not a GST as suggested. The beak is too strong and the striations are wrong. One possibility is a juvenile Olive Backed Oriole...the beak, eye and striations all fit as does the body shape. For the sake of accuracy we may have to leave it in limbo.

BLSH Four. The bird is greyer than any Oriole I have seen. It also seems to have a rufous eyebrow, distinctive of a juvenile Grey Shrike-Thrush. See the following link to Google images of juvenile Grey Shrike-Thrush. Quite a few of the birds look similar to this one. Olive-backed Oriole was on my radar and is definitely still a possibility. I sent this picture to a few fellow birding friends who all agreed on a Juvenile/immature Grey Shrike-Thrush based on several things.
1. Rufous eyebrow can be just seen when you zoom in (never observed in Olive-backed Oriole.
2. Grey plumage consistent with usual Grey Shrike-thrush.
3. Body shape seems more like a Shrike Thrush than an oriole.
