User's notes

After hearing a Southern Boobook calling last night we were surprised to find one trapped inside our enclosed orchard. After taking these images at a distance I opened the door and the owl made good its escape to freedom.

I have some images of Barking Owls Jackie, but unfortunately they are of the northern race 'peninsularis' taken in the Darwin Botanic Gardens. They certainly have those brilliant pale yellow eyes. I have not seen or heard Barking Owls in the southern parts of Australia.

WildernessPhotographer, if you can manage an audio recording, you can put a 'sighting' up with that instead of a photo.
