The dark beetle just about did my patience; it was obscured from every angle. The other one I didn't see until editing the photos. Is its the same species just upsidedown?

Thanks for the underside photo Kylie - it really helps with the ID. This is a very interesting sighting. It is a first electronic record for the Wodonga - Albury area for this species and as the name suggests it normally feeds on Pittosporum. In your photo it is feeding on Bursaria spinosa which is in the Pittosporum family.

wow. thanks michael. i will have to go back and see if i can find it again and get a better picture. I was so frustrated that day - every time the camera went up its head went behind a leaf!
