I took this photo last year, but clearly missed it in getting it ID'd. These are the largest pintail beetles I've seen.

Clearly Mordellidae, but I can't be sure of the genus. Would need to examine a specimen, and even that would not guarantee an identification, as the taxonomy is a bit of a mess as regards the Australian fauna.
