Seen locally for several decades. This purple verbena-like flowered plant is a perennial that sends out underground runners and suckers readily, producing stiff upright plants. Its leaves are hairy and quite spiky on the edges. It can be seen growing in other parts of the Clarence Valley, especially roadside verges and other areas with human &/ vehicle access, so I’m inclined to think it is an introduced plant. It reminds me of another plant, which may also be introduced, logged at Sighting # 4655624.
