User's notes
A dragonfly with a brilliant red abdomen, and a bronze-brown thorax & head. The eyes are brown-black, and the wing veins and lower legs are black. This is a frequent Summer sighting locally (Copmanhurst, NSW North Coast). There is another dragonfly which is a much toned-down red colour and I suspect that is the female of the same species. Possibly this one is a male Fiery Skimmer (Orthetrum villosovittatum) ?
