Philypnodon grandiceps (Flathead Gudgeon)  

Family: Eleotridae (Sleeper Gobie)  

Status: Native  

Size: Grows to 12 cm, but is more commonly seen up to 8 cm.  

Description: Colour varies from black, brown, grey or reddish to greenish-brown overall. Similar but larger than Dwarf Flat-headed Gudgeon.  

Location: Found in streams in south east Australia. In CMN area found in the eastern streams and rivers and lower Murrumbidgee Catchment. The Atlas of Living Australia (ALA) only show records on eastern and north western boundaries of K2C region.
