Pollanisus apicalis

Pollanisus species are difficult to separate, especially when only a photo is available.  The larger blue-green specimens observed in the ACT are usually P. viridipulverulenta.  Smaller specimens with narrower wings are likely to be P. apicalis.  Those with a bronze collar are similar to P. subdolosa which is common coastally.  The larvae of most Pollanisus species feed on Hibbertia.

Pollanisus apicalis has been recorded often on Black Mountain and the Aranda bushland.
