Polycephalomyces tomentosus

This is a hyphomyceet that regularly occurs in the winter months on slime molds of the genus Trichia.

This parasite looks to the naked eye as a kind of fluff, that on closer inspection is made up of lots of small white balls carrying stalks with a white button at each end.

Due to its very small size it is recorded only occasionaly.
