Microvelia sp. (genus) (Riffle bug)


'Small water striders' or 'Riffle bugs' (family Veliidae) are small aquatic (or sometimes semi-aquatic) bugs that live on the water surface where they predate other small invertebrates. This habitat is shared with other bugs such as Water striders (Gerridae) and Water measurers (Hydrometridae), as well as Whirligig beetles (Gyrinidae).
