Lindera tessellatella (Bran Moth (Tineidae)


Lindera tessellatella is an introduced species. It was first described from South America but is also recorded in Africa, Europe & North America. In Australia it is mostly found in Melbourne, greater Melbourne and Geelong in Victoria. It has alo been recorded in Port Lincoln, S.A. and outer Sydney, N.S.W.. It is also established in New Zealand, Fiji & Hawaii. The larvae feed on stored food, dead insects and other organic debris.
