Platythyrea turneri
Platythyrea turneri (like Platythyrea parallela), is an uncommon ant in the ACT region. It is readily distinguished by the brown/red petiole which contrasts with the dark brown/black rest of the ant. Like most ants in the Ponerinae subfamily, it has an effective sting.
