Gymnopilus ferruginosus


This is a wood-rotting fungus on well-rotted logs in eucalypt forests.

Cap: to 70 mm, golden brown, convex, dry with darker fibrillose scales, margin distinctly paler mustard yellow.

Gills: initially cream, then dull gold;

Stem: brownish orange, no ring.

Spore print: rusty brown.Often noticable on the caps of fungi below of on the below substrate.
