Yesterday
Looking at iNaturalist could it be M. occidentalis? There aren't any records on iNat outside SA though. I didn't get a photo but the thorax was bright metallic blue.

It doesn’t look like M. occidentalis which I have found a few times before in WA. M. simplex is a possibility. I’ll have a look at my reference collection when I am back home in a few days
