Pseudolycus haemorrhoidalis (Lycid-mimic beetle)

Family Oedemeridae.

These beetles appear to form part of a 'mimicry ring' of diverse insects that apparently mimic distasteful Net-winged beetles (Porrostoma spp., family Lycidae) to obtain protection by disguise from predators such as birds. However, some of the 'mimics' may themselves also be distasteful.
