The elytra are pale brown, with the two principal white costae (longitudinal ridges) bending around an elongate oval area of finer punctures in the middle of the elytron. Larvae are borers in Acacia and some other plants. Unlike some other Syllitus, adults of S. grammicus do not seem to be attracted to flowers.
